Firma rodzinna jest przedmiotem badań specjalistów z całego świata reprezentujących różne dziedziny nauki już od około 40 lat W Polsce jedyne opracowania na temat firm rodzinnych to studia przypadków firm odnoszących sukcesy, wśród których znaczną część stanowią firmy rodzinne. Jednak ich sukcesów nie upatruje się w ich specyficznych cechach. Nasuwają się dwa pytania. Dlaczego firmy rodzinne są przedmiotem badań coraz większej liczby naukowców i co to jest firma rodzinna?
