Abstrakty

Zdrowie populacji ma niewątpliwie wymiar finansowy. Wynika to z faktu, że koszty ubezpieczyciela to głównie koszty usług medycznych, te zaś zależą od chorobowości w danej populacji. Wobec tego, poprawa zdrowia ubezpieczonych powinna znaleźć odzwierciedlenie w wyniku finansowym instytucji ubezpieczeniowych. Działania prewencyjne, ukierunkowane na zmniejszenie chorobowości, należałoby zatem rozumieć jako inwestycje w "kapitał (majątek) zdrowotny" populacji. Z kolei, oszczędności ubezpieczyciela wynikłe z poprawy zdrowia, można by oceniać w kategoriach zwrotu z inwestycji w prewencję.(fragment tekstu)

The State of health of insured person certainly has an economic meaning. It is because that the expenses of insurance company contain mainly the costs of medical services, and they depend on the morbidity of the population. It is the reason why the improvement of the State of health of insured persons should be reflected in the financial results of insurance companies. So, the loss prevention activity aimed at decreasing of morbidity may be considered as an investment in the health Capital of the population. On the other hand, the savings of insurance company arised from the improve of health may be considered as the return from loss prevention investments. The dependence between the State of health and cost of medical services, which charges Insurance companies, convinces for the justification of bearing investment outlay on loss prevention.(original abstract)
