Les conséquences de la COVID-19 qui a ravagé notre planète se sont avérées désastreuses sur le plan sanitaire et économique. L'objectif de cet article est d'étudier les répercussions des jours de fermeture et de l'indice du capital humain, sur le taux de chômage en général et sur celui des jeunes particulièrement. L'étude porte sur dix-huit pays de la région du MENA. Les résultats économétriques ont montré que l'indice du capital humain a un impact négatif sur le taux de chômage global et sur celui des jeunes en particulier. Ces résultats ont indiqué également que les mesures du confinement strict augmentent le taux de chômage, contrairement aux conditions de confinement souple.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The consequences of the COVID-19 which devastated our planet was disastrous in terms of health and economic situation. The purpose of this article is to study the repercussions of the days of lockdown and the human capital index on the unemployment rate, in general and on young people in particular. The study covers eighteen countries in the MENA region. The econometric results have shown that the human capital index has a negative impact on the overall unemployment rate and on young people specifically. These results also indicated that strict confinement measures increase unemployment rate, unlike soft confinement ones.(original abstract)
