The economic globalization has been the most important process tied up for ages with the development of the world economy. However, their mutual relationship has been the most intense since the last third of the 19th century. Economic theory relates economic globalization to higher levels or new forms of internationalization of economic activities and thus it relates economic globalization particularly to the increasing volumes of the international flows of goods and capital that result from the changes in technology and policy. Therefore, the relationship between international trade and economic globalization is close and the changes in the volumes of international merchandise trade are used to specify different eras of economic globalization.(fragment of text)
