Abstrakty

Celem artykułu było poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy portugalskie archipelagi Makaronezji: Azory i Madera mogą być postrzegane jako nowe kierunki wyjazdów turystycznych Polaków. W pracy zawarto ogólną charakterystykę tych wysp oraz opisano dynamikę ruchu turystycznego na nich w latach 1991-2022. Następnie zbadano dynamikę ruchu turystycznego Polaków odwiedzających omawiane wyspy i określono udział tych destynacji w podróżach turystów do Makaronezji ogółem. W postępowaniu badawczym wykorzystano dane z krajowych i regionalnych baz statystycznych Portugalii i Światowej Organizacji Turystyki. Przeprowadzona analiza wskazuje, że Madera stała się współcześnie ważnym nowym kierunkiem podróży zagranicznych Polaków, z kolei Azory mogą się nim stać w najbliższej dekadzie.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The article searches for the answer to the question: of whether the Portuguese archipelagos of Macaronesia, Azores and Madeira, can become new tourist destinations for Poles? The paper presents the general characteristics of these islands and the dynamics of tourism on these islands in the years 1991-2022. Then, the dynamics of tourism of Poles visiting these islands were examined and the share of these destinations in total trips to Macaronesia was determined. Data from the national and regional statistical databases of Portugal and the World Tourism Organization were used in the research procedure. The analysis shows that Madeira has already become an important new destina- tion for Poles, while the Azores may become one in the next decade.(original abstract)
