The attention of theorists and practitioners in international economics and finance has been focused in recent several years on the foreign debt of the developing countries. Carrying out research into it 1 would like to present some preliminary conclusions I have arrived at analysing balances of payments in 1970-1985 period. On the basis of the data derived from the International Financial Statistics Yearbook 1986, the balances of trade, services and transfers, current accounts, flow of capitals and changes in reserves, have been drawn up and divided between the Industrial and Developing Countries with the subdivision of those latter into Oil Exporting Cts and Non-Oil Exporting Cts (...).
