Występujący w ostatnich latach spadek produkcji i dochodu narodowego spowodowany jest w znacznym stopniu niedostatecznym zaopatrzeniem w surowce, materiały, paliwa i energię. Możliwości wzrostu podaży tych czynników wytwórczych są w chwili obecnej, a także w dalszej perspektywie niewielkie. (fragment tekstu)

The paper concentrates upon the selected problems of influencing the modernization process through the tools of financial system. Assuming that the financial system, and especially the solutions in the field of financing of investaent, will - alongside material factors - deteimine the pace of modernization, the authors define the conditions of gathering and spending the funds for financing the restitution and modernization of the existlng stock of capital goods. The basic method of financing such investment ought to be self-financing with sources in in profit and deprecuation funds. The authors suggest that depreciation money should stay totaiły in the enterprise, thus creating financial resources for restitution and modernization of wom out capital goods. A considerable role in financing the modernization investment should be played by bank credits, which are a resilient tool for easinf discrepancies between the accumulated stock of own financial means and the justifiable needs of realizing financial expendltures for the aformentioned purposes.
