The aim of the article is to recognize the direction of the relation between a latent variable of the entrepreneurial orientation and its measurers. According to the scientific literature studies it was concluded that the method of measuring of entrepreneurial orientation EO is dictated by the direction of the relation between the EO construct and its sub-dimensions. This means that the considerations are focused on the after-effects of the assumed conceptualization of the entrepreneurial orientation construct for operationalization. Comparing the mentioned models of the measurement of entrepreneurial orientation, i.e. reflective and formative, a few significant differences were distinguished. It was agreed that in the reflective approach the change of the level of the entrepreneurial orientation is represented in all its dimensions, and in the formative approach this change is most probably caused by the increase of one or more of its dimensions. Moreover, it was concluded that the choice of the relation between a latent construct and its dimensions has significant consequences for both forming the hypothesis, as well as, the interpretation of the results.(original abstract)
