Abstrakty

W referacie przeanalizowano wybrane wskaźniki ilustrujące poziom rozwoju infrastruktury technicznej i społecznej makroregionu środkowowschodniego (województwa bialskopodlaskie, chełmskie, lubelskie i zamojskie), gdzie stopień zaniedbania był i jest relatywnie duży. Istonym było zwłaszcza zbadanie, w jakim stopniu mechanizm centralnego planowania i kierowania gospodarką przyczynił się do zmniejszania dysproporcji pomiędzy tym regionem, a obszarami o notowanym wyższym poziomie społeczno-gospodarczym. Przy analizie posłużono się uproszczoną metodą porównywania kształtowania się poziomu wybranych wskaźników w czasie i przestrzeni. Relacje tych wskaźników badano nie tylko w układzie wybranych województw, ale także porównywano ich poziom z przeciętnymi wskaźnikami krajowymi, co umożliwiało określenie miejsca województwa w gospodarce kraju.

The purpose of the paper is to find out whether and to what extent the past mechanism of central planning and manganing the economy contributed to the appeasement of disproportions in the development of the technical and social infrastructure in the Eastern provinces of Poland which belong to the central-eastern macroregion. The analysis of the selected indexes illustrating the developmnet of the technical and social infrastructure shows that the stimulation of the economic growth of this area resulted in a considerable progress in the field of the development of the basic tools of infrastructure (especially the social infrastructure) in the years 1975-1992. However, not all the negligence was done away with and the delays in the development of some elemnets of teh infrastructure (especially the technical infrastructure) are still considerable, especially in relation to the rest of the country. This refers particulary to the eastrn provinces commonly referred to as the "eastern wall". It proves insufficient efficiency of the policy run in the former years and aiming at doing away with the disproportions in the distribution of the tools of the technical and social infrastructure as well as in the level of the services rendered in this sphere.
