Abstrakty

Referat obejmuje rozważania nad stanem zdrowia fizycznego mieszkańców Polski, a dokładniej grupy ludności wiejskiej, związanej z rolnictwem. Autor przytoczył m.in. wyniki badań screeningowych przeprowadzonych przez zespół lekarzy lubelskich w latach 1989-1991 w wytypowanych wsiach województwa lubelskiego, na podstawie których stwierdził, że wśród tej populacji obserwowany jest stały proces pogarszania się zdrowia oraz proces utrzymywania się dysporoporcji w stanie zdrowia między ludnością miast i wsi, na niekorzyść tej ostatniej grupy. Bardzo zły stan zdrowia zbiorowości wiejskiej świadczy jednocześnie o niedostatecznej pracy instytucji ochrony zdrowia.

A mean's health constitutes a great value which determines his personal happiness and the happiness of the family he lives in. Health conditions determine the possibility of working in definite professions and the efficiency of this work. In order to estimate the health state of the population, one can use a number of measurers, so-called positive and intermediary ones. Out of these, the negative indicators are most accessible in practical use. These are for instance the sick rate, the death rate, etc. The agricultural population has been included under free medical care since 1972 but the state of health of this population has not improved. It is reported that the proportion of deaths caused by coronary diseases increased from 20.0 procent in 1949 to 52.3 procent in 1987. One could also observe in increase of deaths caused by cancer from 12.8 procent in 1960 to 18.5 procent in 1087 as well as an increase of the deaths due to accidents, poisoning and injuries. The results of screening research conducted by a team of the Lublin doctors in the years 1989-1991 in the selected villages of the Lublin area also point more to the worse health condition of the rural population than to its improvement.
