Podjęto próbę wskazania przyczyn zmniejszania się w Europie poziomu dzietności. Uwagę skoncentrowano na ewolucji tego zjawiska w XX w. oraz na uwarunkowaniach określających poziom bezdzietności wymuszonej i dobrowolnej.
