The purpose of the contribution is to present the SPACE analysis as a tool of aiding the decision making process, concerning the domain of an organization. The domain can be understood as an essential purpose of an organization. Depending on the position of the organization in the space created by three dimensions: the financial power, competitive advantage and attraction of the business, the author postulates the use of one of the four behavioral, strategic types. These are: aggressive strategy, conservative strategy, competitive strategy or strategy of defence. These types are characterised by the decision regarding the kind of diversification: related, vertical or unrelated diversification. On the basis of a building enterprise the author presents a strategic session aided by SPACE analysis and its results contributing to the decision relating to the domain. (original abstract)
