Abstrakty

Kryzys w światowej gospodarce wpłynął, z opóźnieniem wynikającym z charakteru produkcji, na rynek okrętowy. Nastąpiło głębokie załamania wielkości frachtów, istotnemu obniżeniu uległy ceny statków, niemal całkowicie wstrzymano nowe zamówienia, armatorzy rezygnują z podpisanych już kontraktów. Tak drastyczne zjawiska to nie tylko skutek załamania systemu finansowego ale także niezwykłej koniunktury na światowym ryku statków w okresie poprzedzającym kryzys. Można domniemywać, że część zamówień miała spekulacyjny charakter. W wielu państwach zastosowano daleko idące formy pomocy dla stoczni. Pomoc ta grozi zachowaniem dużej nierównowagi popytu i podaży na rynku statków. W tej sytuacji kryzys w przemyśle okrętowym może być długotrwały i groźny zwłaszcza dla krajów europejskich. The global economic crisis influenced the shipbuilding market with some delay caused by the production cycle. A deep reduction of freight rates, drop in prices of ships, near complete stalling of new orders, and ownerships cancelled already signed contracts followed. The severity of these events is not entirely attributable to the crash of the financial system but can be traced to the unusual state of the shipbuilding market before the crisis hit. It is plausible to assume that part of the orders had speculative nature. Also, many countries go a long way to support their shipyards. This assistance introduces a pronounced imbalance between demand and supply for ships. In these circumstances, the crisis in the shipbuilding industry may be prolonged and painful, particularly for the European countries. (original abstract)
