Abstrakty

Podstawowym celem artykułu jest weryfikacja tezy, że fundusze hedgingowe osiągają zyski niezależne od koniunktury gospodarczej. Weryfikacji powyższej tezy dokonano na podstawie analizy danych statystycznych ukazujących sytuację na rynku funduszy hedgingowych na swiecie. Główną uwagę zwrócono na 2008 r. obrazujący zmianę sytuacji na rynku funduszy hedgingowych. W artykule wykorzystano dane statystyczne dotyczące rynku funduszy hedgingowych publikowane przez international Financial Services London (IFSL). (fragment tekstu)

The main aim of the article is to varify the opinion that hedge funds achieve gains irrespective of economic situation. The verification was made based on statistical data concerning hedge funds, published by International Financial Services London (IFSL). The main attention was focused on 2008. The basic conclusion can be drawn from the article, i.e. - hedge funds had a lot of problems during economic crises in 2008, some of them suffered losses, some of them even collapsed. The article disproved the thesis that hedge funds achieve gains irrespective of economic situation. (original abstract)
