Deregulation of Natural Monopoly in Slovakia

In the latest decades, a serious shift occurs from normative theory of natural monopoly regulation to the positive one. Positive theory analyses the motivational behaviour of subjects in regulated industries and negative consequences of the regulation in micro as well as in macroeconomic level. The practical form of the regulation that came into existence 100 years ago and still remains, considerably changes itself. This change or turnover is called deregulation or regulation reform and appears through changes in branches and extents such as: regulation conception (via market structure definition, including the proprietorial one, duty regulation, changeovers in price control (incentive prices for an improve of internal efficiency), status of the regulator. W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z monopolem naturalnym na Słowacji w latach 1990-2003. Wymieniono przykłady monopolistów na rynku słowackim, a także opisano koncepcje deregulacji rynku monopolu naturalnego.
