W niniejszym artykule omówiono problem złożoności w teorii systemów. Przedstawiono metody analizy złożoności systemów. Na koniec omówiono epistemologiczną hierarchię systemów.

Lately, the theory of systems and cybernetics have reached the end points of their development. It is no longer possible to describe systems without the description of the characteristics which are qualified as complexity. It is just necessary to form a more precise definition of system complexity. In the present paper the conceptions of complexity are reviewed which have been based on the theory of systems and cybernetics. The review has been complemented with the methods used in a systemic approach when studying complex social systems. The paper ends in the presentation of epistemological hierarchy of systems, worked out by G.J.Klir.(original abstract)
