Artykuł dotyczy wybranych zagadnień z zakresu euroregionów. Autor omawia genezę, podstawowe pojęcia i podstawy prawne współpracy transgranicznej. Przedstawia euroregiony w Polsce oraz strukturę organizacyjną Euroregio Enschede - Gronau (region współpracy transgranicznej na pograniczu niemiecko-holenderskim).

Euro-regional co-operation is a chance of economical, trade, scientific and cultural development for bordeline areas. The problem of Euro-regions is a vast subject which can be discussed in a number of ways. The above article refers to only several assorted questions, namely basic terms, law bases and organisational structures. To sum up, it can be said that Euro-regional initiatives are evaluated positively in Western Europe, where they have their own traditions. The idea of Euro-regions in Poland has got its followers and opponents. It must be pointed out here that transgress co-operation in Western Europe has developed in unlike economical and socio-political circumstances. Thus, when creating Euro-regional initiatives we should remember to use only such practice which fits to our own country's circumstances. (short original abstract)
