Rozwój wiedzy o zarządzaniu projektami napotyka wiele trudności. Żadna z dostępnych publikacji nie porządkuje obszaru zarządzania wiedzą o projektach w sposób analogiczny do usystematyzowania w dostępnych kompendiach i standardach takich obszarów, jak zarządzanie czasem, zarządzanie kosztami czy zarządzanie jakością w środowisku projektów. Za jedną z głównych przeszkód w dalszym rozwoju wiedzy o zarządzaniu projektami uważany jest brak systematycznego przeglądu stanu badań dotyczącego tego obszaru. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera opis oryginalnego, pełnego modelu zarządzania wiedzą o projektach, w którym podstawową rolę odgrywają: Mikrocykl życia wiedzy - określający zestaw procesów wykonywanych na pojedynczych elementach wiedzy o projektach. W mikrocyklu życia wiedzy wyodrębniono podstawowe procesy zarządzania elementami wiedzy: identyfikację potrzebnej wiedzy, nabycie, tworzenie, wykorzystanie, transfer, identyfikowanie i dokumentowanie wytworzonej wiedzy, dzielenie się wiedzą oraz pozyskiwanie jej spoza organizacji. Makrocykle życia wiedzy - zdefiniowane dla czterech poziomów zarządzania (indywidualnego, projektu, organizacji i globalnego), określające procesy wykonywane na całości wiedzy o projektach istniejącej na każdym z tych poziomów. Międzypoziomowe przepływy wiedzy o projektach - powodujące przekazywanie elementów wiedzy pomiędzy poziomami zarządzania. (abstrakt oryginalny)
