W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono polsko-chińskie obroty towarowe za lata 1979-1987 oraz strukturę towarową polsko-chińskich obrotów handlowych w latach 1980-1987.

The economic relations between Poland and China in the years 1950-1987 have been discussed, the special emphasis being laid on the eighties. The exchange of goods between the two countries in the years 1950 - 1987 has been presented and the stages differing in the level and dynamics of trade turnover have been separated. Attention has been drawn to the factors shaping the exchange of goods, both economic and political ones. The volumes and structures of export and import over that period have been presented. The main part of the paper deals with the economic co-operation between Poland and China in the eighties. The special importance of it results from the fact that, at present, economic co-operation is the main factor of the increase in turnover and the enrichment of the assortment of goods. The main forms of that co-operation have been discussed, both the traditional ones, determining the shape of the economic co-operation over the years of Poland-China relations (shipping co-operation), and the new ones, i.e. industrial co-operation, participation of Poland in the modernization of China economy. The profits derived by the both parties from that type of co-operation and the barriers limiting its scope have been presented. Attention has been drawn to the possibilities of extending the economic relations in the near future. (original abstract)
