Abstrakty

W opracowaniu podjęto próbę wykorzystania grupy banków spółdzielczych zgromadzonych w Zrzeszeniu Regionalnym "Z" w celu rozpoznania ich kondycji finansowej. Podstawę źródłową stanowiły informacje o bankach pochodzące ze sprawozdań finansowych sporządzonych przez te podmioty bankowe (dane statystyczne o charakterze wtórnym).

The article is an attempt to use the discrimination function in order to assess the financial condition of banks. In the experiment the co-efficient of solvency was used as a grouping variable. The results of this experiment show that: - while evaluating the condition of a bank, informative value of the discrimination function turned out to be very good, - accuracy of the classification of banks made on the basis of a full and a reduced set of diagnostic variables was similar. This suggests that it is more rational to carry out reduction of the initial set of diagnostic variables and later on to estimate the parameters of the discrimination function on the basis of the reduced set.
