Segmentacja rynku papierów wartościowych może dotyczyć zarówno podmiotów dokonujących transakcji jak i przedmiotów tych transakcji. Artykuł poświęcony jest temu pierwszemu zagadnieniu.

The author discusses two groups of investors on the capital market in the context of their importance for that market. The way of investing and the proportional market share these groups have can exert a great influence on the stability of prices. In the case of individual investors attention is drawn to the way of purchasing securities and the specifically interpreted usability of the expected rate of investment recoupment. Institutional investors are shown the essence of trust and retirement funds and two functional models of banks on the capital market. The forms of participation of the state and its institutions in the capital market are discussed as well.(original abstract)
