Abstrakty

Omówiono bezpośrednie inwestycje zagraniczne (BIZ) jako jeden z najważniejszych czynników procesu globalizacji. Prowadzą one do zwiększenia wydajności pracy, poziomu inwestycji i zatrudnienia oraz wprowadzania nowoczesnych metod zarządzania. Autorka prezentuje Przepisy regulujące napływ kapitału do państw członkowskich UE oraz inwestycje na rynku wewnętrznym i inwestycje pochodzące z krajów trzecich. W formie tabeli przedstawiono napływ BIZ do UE-25 z państw członkowskich i z krajów trzecich w latach 2001-2006.

The article presents the EU position in the global FDI inflow on the background of the legal framework concerning capital movements within the EU as well as between the EU and the rest of the world. The European Union maintains its leading position as the most attractive global investment region although its position is weakening. Intra-EU flows account for an appreciable portion of the inflows into the EU Member States. But the single market is also an attractive location for investors from third countries. The value of the FDI inflow into EU-25 has been increasing since year 2004, and in 2006 it reached 584 bn euro. Much of the growth was driven by cross-border corporate restructuring and not by new investment projects. Recently, the 25 countries of the EU together have been attracting for about 45-50 per cent of total FDI flows. The single market is seen as a powerful lever to bring the benefits of globalisation to the EU. In order to fulfill, these expectations numerous changes are necessary. First of all, they should comprise for example European labour market regulations, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, further integration of the single market and liberalisation of capital flows.
