W opracowaniu przedstawiono analizę rynku pracy w Stanach Zjednoczonych w latach 1945-1991. Ukazano zmiany jakie zaszły na tym rynku i wyjaśniono ich przyczyny. Artykuł uzupełniony jest licznymi tablicami z danymi, opartymi na źródłach krajowych oraz zagranicznych. Liczby te umożliwiają na porównania między zarobkami i wydajnością na rynku pracy w USA i innych krajach rozwiniętych w okresie po II wojnie światowej.

This article looks at the American labour market after the Second World War. The author describes the changes that took place on that market and explains their causes. He divides these causes into: - those not dependent on human - i.e., the result of scientific discoveries and their application in practice, and changes in the global economic and political situation, etc., and the impact of such factors on the labour market, which often become evident only after several years, - those dependent on human factors - e.g., the changing vogue for certain professions. The article is supplemented by numerous tables based on domestic and foreign sources. They contain data which allow for possible comparisons between earnings and labour productivity both in the USA and other developed countries after the Second World War. (original abstract)
