Abstrakty
Analiza obejmuje grupy przedsiębiorstw małych, średnich i dużych w trzynastu sektorach gospodarczych w Polsce w latach 2002-2007.

The aim of the research is to establish the relative importance of industry and size effect in corporate performance in Polish firms. Groups of small, medium and large companies were analysed in thirteen industries. The variables, i.e. yearly financial ratios from 2002-2007 were computed with the use of aggregated financial statements published in the European BACH database. The methodology of the research involves cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling. Findings provide empirical evidence that industry factors slightly dominate over the size effect. This, in turn, implies that diversification strategies based on crossindustry sections should prove more effective than those based on size diversity.(original abstract)
