Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest określenie - na podstawie literatury i doświadczeń własnych autora - podstaw metodycznych sporządzania opisu przypadku z zakresu zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem, a w szczególności wskazanie zasad pisania "case" oraz opracowywania wskazówek dydaktycznych, warunkujących jego efektywne wykorzystywanie. Przedstawiono procedurę opracowywania opisu przypadku, zasady realizacji prac przygotowawczych i pozyskiwania niezbędnych informacji oraz zasady jego redagowania.

The aim of the paper is to develop, basing on the analysis of the literature and author's experience, methodical grounds for the description of a case pertaining to business management and, especially, for the determination of the most important, in a sense universal, principles of writing a case and developing its integral part, i.e. didactic instructions (the so-called teaching note) conditioning its effective use during classes. The conception presented in the paper is an attempt to synthetize the basic, although often considered relative, methodical principles of describing cases. The description of a case is the description of the actual situation of a firm at definite time and under given internal and external functioning conditions, requiring the solution of a definite practical problem by a concrete manager (decision-making authority). Such a description has been developed and used during business management classes for shaping and developing the necessary management skills. The suggested conception of making out a case includes two basic elements: 1) The procedure of its development comprising three basic phases: preparatory works, collection of source data, formulation of the description of the case which, in turn, consists of a number of stages; 2) Principles and detailed techniques used at individual phases and stages of the procedure.
