W artykule omówiono przesłanki polityki protekcyjnej wobec rolnictwa oraz przejawy, instrumenty i ewolucję praktyki interwencjonizmu państwa w rolnictwie.

The article tries to present the phenomena of protectionism in international trade in commodities of the agricultural-food sector. The first part discusses the premises of protection activities towards the agricultural-food sector. Attention is paid to the factors which determine those premises and which belong to both economic and non-economic sphere. The second part is devoted to the instruments applied in practice and to their evolution. The article confirms the thesis that intervention in the trade exchange of the agricultural-food is an inseparable part of its development. (short original abstract)
