Przedstawiono zarys systemu finansowego USA, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem systemu bankowego. Przedstawiono regulacje prawne dotyczące banków handlowych, narzędzia kontroli zdolności banków handlowych do kreacji pieniądza, System Rezerw Federalnych.

The subject of this paper is money market, which is highly regulated by both the federal as well as the state governments. Such tools of control of the nation's money supply as: (1) changing the required reserve ratios by Fed., (2) changing the discount rate Fed. charges banks for borrowing money for reserves, (3) purchasing or selling of U.S. Treasury securities in Open Market Operations, are presented in more detail. The government's regulatory efforts reflect the great importance the financial system demands in a market economy. (original abstract)
