Abstrakty

Artykuł mówi o profilu cywilizacji przyszłości, która wyłania się z kryzysu cywilizacji dziś dominującej w świecie i z rosnącej siły myślenia i stylów życia alternatywnych. Można przewidywać, że nowa cywilizacja będzie mieć sześć zasadniczych cech: 1) myślenie w kategoriach całej Ziemi, 2) etykę czci dla życia, 3) bardziej jakościowe niż ilościowe kryteria wartości życia, 4) przewagę płodności kulturalnej i duchowej nadfizyczną, 5) naukę i technikę przyjazne przyrodzie, oraz 6) orientację egzystencjalną ponaddogmatyczną, uniwersalistyczną i bardziej zwróconą ku światu niż wycofującą się z niego. Rise of the ecological way of thinking and living all over the world entitles us to envisage a model of the future civilization. This model could be characterized by the six following features: 1) a planetary thinking and planing, 2) ethics of reverence for life, 3) more qualitative than quantitative criteria of welfare, 4) predominance of a cultural and spiritual fecundity over the phisical one, 5) science and technology friendly to nature, 6) not stifly dogmatic, virtually universalist and more nature - oriented spirituality. Though there is no guarantee all these emerging characteristics will win the day - there is a good likelyhood that it will happen - if we help it. (original abstract)
