Celem pracy jest zbadanie przebiegu degradacji, w warunkach naturalnych rzeki Wisły, surfaktantów używanych do produkcji proszków do prania oraz roztworów myjących i czyszczących.

The author has dealt in her research with non-ion and anion surfactants of Polish origin. The Vistula River water samples have been examined and the degree of surfactants biological decomposition has been determined by measuring surface tension appluing the Wilhclmy plate method. It follows from the research that for the examined surfactants the time of adaptation of microorganism in our habitat lasts 2-4 days except for Rokaphenols - 8 days. Stremid DK is the most active and decomposes fastest among the investigated surfactants. Its biological degradation is completed in four days. 6 to 10 days is the time in which the following surfactants are fully biodegraded: Malester X-12, Deterol-Z, Stremid DO and R-5. Gamol LD3-4 is degraded in 100% after 30 days and sulfasuccinate N- -5/30 in 90%. Rokaphenols degrade only in 10% in the 30 days period. (original abstract)
