Przedstawiono koncepcję inkubatorów przedsiębiorczości i na przykładzie działających w Małopolsce instytucji tego typu pokazano ich rolę i osiągnięcia.

In the article the author presents one of the methods of promoting local entrepreneurship, namely a business incubator. At the moment institutions of this kind are very popular in Western Europe and the USA as they assist in the setting up of businesses - small and medium-size - and facilitate their development. However, it should be noted here that a healthly process of the creation and functioning of incubators of entrepreneurship is dependent on the number of significant factors. One of the most prominent are financial means which under Polish are, regrettably, scarce. Despite this fact the idea of creating incubators has caught on in Poland as evidenced by the experience of the city of Kraków described in the article. Therefore, there should be established as many of these istitutions as the conditions will allow and the existing obstacles of their creation should be reduced. (original abstract)
