Opracowanie ma na celu omówienie aspektów prawno-ekonomicznych umowy ubezpieczenia w kontekście działalności przewozowej i spedycyjnej. Zwrócono uwagę na konieczność dostosowania polskiego prawa ubezpieczeniowego w omawianym zakresie do regulacji Unii Europejskiej.

The article presents implications of insurance activity for such a neuralgic sphere of services as transport and forwarding. Through discussing specified aspects of an insurance agreement (mutuality feature), as well as its contents (reservation in favour of the third person), attention is drawn to the importance of insurance and standards that insurance services should fulfil. In this context legal protection that a subject entering into a transport contract with a freighter should process, is significant. Concrete conditions result for instance, from regulations of the insurance activity in transborder insurance act, which is especially important in the proces of harmonizing the Polish legal regulations with those of the European Union.
