Importance of Middle and Lower Management Levels in a Business Control Process - Development of an Explorative Investigation's Strategy

Artykuł jest poświęcony problemom związanym ze znaczeniem średnich i niższych poziomów zarządzania w procesie kontroli biznesowej. Autor proponuje rozróżnienie pomiędzy integracyjno zorientowanym stylem zarządzania a stylem zorientowanym autonomicznie. Z takiego podejścia autor następnie wysnuwa wnioski mogące znaleźć zastosowania w organizacjach biznesowych, szczególnie zaś w określaniu podstawowych zasad w procesie kontroli biznesowej.
In the article I suggest a distiction between integration-oriented and autonomy-oriented management actions and refer to the polarity between the two. I first spell out the dimensionaliy of the integration pattern and autonomy pattern of management actions and the dynamics of the relations between these two kinds of design principles. I then apply this perspective to business organizations in the conviction that this transfer will be fruiful for generating a general framework of the business control process. Assuming there is dialectic tension between integration-oriented control patterns and autonomy-oriented control patterns, one can interpret different control process conceptions as particular combinations in balance between the two. With this descriptive framework I hope to open up a fruitful way to describe the role of middle and lower management levels in an explorative way. (original abstract)
