Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza problematyki oddziaływania struktury importu na wzrost gospodarczy w kolejnych etapach rozwoju gospodarczego Korei Południowej. Analiza wykazała, że import odgrywał znaczną rolę w funkcjonowaniu gospodarki koreańskiej.

Economic succes of South Korea, as well as the other countries of Southeast Asia, are an irrefutable proof for the fact that foreign trade can become an essential factor of economic growth. Therefore the paper generally presents the economic development process of South Korea since the World War II, dividing that period into consecutive development stages. Next comes an analysis of changes taking place within the Korean import, taking into account changes in the import structure. A special attention has been given to the problems of changes within the import commodity pattern, as the main goal of the paper was to ascertain that kinds of commodity witch import was indispensable for the realisation of tasks of the current strategy of economic growth.
