Abstrakty

Analiza i określanie związków i zależności w ciągu przyczynowo-skutkowym: skład chemiczny - technologia - struktura i stan powierzchni - własności - funkcje i cechy użyteczne materiału, stanowi istotę dyscypliny naukowej określanej dzisiaj jako "nauka o materiałach i inżynieria materiałowa". Przedmiotem artykułu jest problematyka rozwoju materiałów w dziejach ludzkości, ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na aktualne tendencje rozwojowe w zakresie materiałów funkcjonalnych.

Analysis and description of cause and effect sequence-dependency: chemical structure-technology-surface and condition-parameters-functions and material usage-features is the essence of the scientific discipline described today as "Material science and engineering". The science in general has been lacking interest in subject of material development right up till the end of 19-th century. In highly developed countries, so called functional materials for the fields of electronic, computer science, optics, bioengineering and other advanced technical fields began to dynamically replaced consctruction materials in industry and building development in the mid 60s. Due to above ability of producing new materials of previously unknown properties and usage features began to influence the level of countries general development. The technology of the above-mentioned materials is embedded in the very basics of science. This situation is the new one, due to the fact that in the past material development generally had no connection with science. Analysis of present industrial and technical tendencies, world economic as well as sociocultural changes production will be based both an conventional (steel, alloys) and modern (polymers, ceramics, composites) construction materials. Yet the functional materials will always be the carriers of progress. (original abstract)
