Scharakteryzowano pojęcia eksploracyjnej i konfirmacyjnej analizy czynnikowej. Omówiono założenia oraz wskaźniki dopasowania analizy konfirmacyjnej oraz jej zastosowanie w problemie marketingowym.

Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) is used to detect the optimal group of main factors, which explain the correlation between observed variables. Factor model received by the use of EFA is often verified while using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). CFA lets us test the goodness-of-fit of a hypothetical model to the covariance structure of observed variables. It also enables to create different competitive models, as well as compare their adjustment to data. CFA helps to define the stability of factor structure for different samples. As a result we can compare the opinion of different tested people. It should be stressed that confirmatory factor analysis is used to test factor structure only when the researches has suitable conditions to create factor model (by use of EFA, for instance).
