Autor analizuje symbolikę elementów geograficznych jakie występują na współczesnych flagach i herbach państw Australii i Oceanii (16 uwzględnionych państw). W artykule przedstawiono krótki zarys historii i podział geograficzno-polityczny Australii i Oceanii.

This article discusses the flags and eblems of Australia and 16 countries in Oceania. The analysis show that the flags and eblems of all the countries of this region contain many geographical elements. These relate to, among other things, the location of these countries in the world, their uinque flora and fauna, the ethnic and religious composition of their inhabitants, and the typical occupations of their indigenous populations.
