Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono niekorzystne zmiany w strukturze polskiego eksportu i obrotów handlowych oraz wpływ jaki na te zmiany ma luka technologiczna i związany z nią poziom rozwoju technologicznego Polski. Wykorzystując neotechnologiczne teorie wymiany międzynarodowej autor wykazuje, że głównymi barierami polskiego eksportu jest zacofanie strukturalne i technologiczne polskiego przemysłu.

The paper is an attempt to explain the rules governing the specificity of Polish foreign trade in view of the neotechnological theories of international trade. Basing on the assumption that technical science is disproportionately distributed in the world, they present the factors determining both the structure and the techniques of trade. This is confirmed by the character of the exchange of goods between Poland and the European Union. In the structure of Polish export to the EU raw materials and technologically uncomplicated goods hold a leading position, wheres the largest deficit is noted in the sphere of highly processed goods. Such a situation hinders the expansion of Polish export, because of the limitations created by its structure. Polish enterprises have to adjust the technological level of production to the requirements of foreign customers. This cannot be done without great capital investments, in which direct foreigners' investments play an important role. Moreover, science must be incorporated into the process of modernizing domestic production, and outlays on research and development ought to be increased. Otherwise, our country will remain in the background of innovations made in the world. (original abstract)
