W artykule omówiono miejsce teorii państwa i prawa w filozofii G.W.F. Hegla (1770-1831). Przedstawiono pojęcie państwa i prawa oraz omówiono rolę państwa w stosunkach międzynarodowych.
The paper analyses Hegel's understanding of the state and international law. Hegel presents his concept of the state and law as part of theoretical philosophy, asking the state and law indeed are rather than what they should be. Initially, Hegel derived the essence of the state from the political and legal organization. In his principal work on political philosophy, Philosophy of Law, he saw it in the sphere of ethicality (Sittlichkeit), i.e. a set of commonly accepted values, customs, or models of behaviour, around which the activities of the state community are concentrated. It Sittlichkeit particular interest of individuals combine with the interest of the state. (short original abstract)
