Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono rozwój strategii outsourcingowej, z zwróceniem głównie uwagi na usługi informatyczne w instytucjach finansowych. Autor opisał także zalecenia brytyjskiego nadzoru bankowego, który wymaga aby bank po podpisaniu umowy outsourcingowej zachował pełną kontrolę nad swymi usługami informatycznymi i ponosił za nie pełną odpowiedzialność. Do artykułu dołączony został aneks zawierający przykłady zlecania części swej działalności firmom zewnętrznym (BBC, Bank od Scotland, NTL, Avenyis CropScience i JAL).

Outsourcing gradually became very popular in modern industry and commerce, including information technology. This paper presents short review of historical stages of outsourcing, paying special attention to that of IT and financial industry. Various reasons for outsourcing IT services are discussed. The paper undertakes to state that outsourcing should be considered more as part of a competitive tactic, rather than a cost-cutting exercise. (short original abstract)
