Abstrakty
The analysis of the market orientation construct made in the article has revealed that the different studies have used different definitions of market orientation. In the analysis of the boundaries of market orientation only one definition was able to satisfy the criteria that were used. The appropriate boundries for market orientation were argued to be (1) a means rather than a means and an end scope, (2) located at the SBU level, (3) restricted to the domain of current and potential customers and competitors, (4) a realized rather than an intended orientation, and (5) different from the marketing concept. The definition was the one developed by Kohli and Jaworski (1990). The state-of-the-art definition of market orientation is then the firms's organization wide market information generation, dissemination and reponsiveness. Accordingly, market orientation is the organization's system of organization wide market learning and the exploitation of such learning in market decisions. (original abstract)
Analiza budowy orientacji rynku przedstawiona w artykule dowodzi, że różne studia używają innych definicji orientacji rynku. W analizie granic orientacji rynku tylko jedna definicja spełnia kryteria, których użyto. Poprawne granice dla orientacji rynku dowodzą 1. bycia sposobem raczej niż dziedziną, 2. zlokalizowania na poziomie SBU, 3. ograniczenia zakresu bieżących i potencjalnych klientów i konkurentów, 4. realizowania raczej niż planowania orientacji oraz 5. różnych od pomysłów marketingowych. Orientacja rynku jest zorganizowanym systemem uczącym szerokiej struktury rynku i wykorzystywania tej nauki w decyzjach związanych z rynkiem.
