Artykuł ma na celu zwrócenie uwagi na wzrost znaczenia problematyki zarządzania kapitałem ludzkim i jego wpływ na potencjał konkurencyjności firmy. Autorka przedstawia charakterystykę najważniejszych modeli gospodarowania kapitałem ludzkim, do których zalicza się: model tradycyjny, model stosunków międzyludzkich oraz model rozwoju zasobów pracy.

Competitiveness is the most important aspects of nowadays economical life. It stimulates human creativity, allows people to achieve higher results and is also one of the most effective powers that stimulate innovations and the increase of productivity. Human resources management is a relatively new corporate issue brought into the workplace because of the changing conditions, structures and marketplace priorities in every organisation. It stimulates creativeness, allows people to achieve higher results and moreover stimulates innovations and increases productivity. It also determines the kind of the decision undertaken in the organisation, creates the culture of change and directs the future in the enterprise. The source of an enterprise's advantage is its intellectual capital. (original abstract)
