Abstrakty

Bieżący rozwój i rozszerzenie handlu pomiędzy Polską a Węgrami jest zdeterminowany przez Porozumienie Środkowo-Europejskie o Wolnym Handlu (CEFTA), podpisanym 21.12.1992. Autorzy zwracają uwagę na gwałtowny wzrost handlu w ostatnich latach co świadczy o tym, że oba kraje są dla siebie obiecującymi rynkami.

The current shape and extend of trade between Poland and Hungary is determined by the Central European Free Trade Agreement (the CEFTA agreement), signed on 21 December 1992. After a period of rapid decline during the initial phase of the transformation period in both countries, trading contacts and economic ties between Poland and Hungary have, since 1993, been systematically rebuilt. The rapid growth in trade over recent years shows that both countries are good and promising sales markets for each other. This trend has been maintained in 1998. Although the CEFTA agreement has been in force for only a short period of time, both economies have successfully come through an "immunisation" cycle connected with the liberalisation of customs duties. This will be especially important when the Polish and Hungarian economies enter the next phase of confrontation with the expansive and very demanding European Union market. (original abstract)
