Celem niniejszego artykułu było przedstawienie do dyskusji przydatności podejścia systemowego do optymalizacji zapasów materiałowych w przedsiębiorstwie. Zdaniem autora zastosowanie podejścia systemowego w gospodarce materiałowej spowoduje: prawidłowe zidentyfikowanie problemu; znacznie ułatwi identyfikację wszystkich zmiennych; pozwoli prawidłowo wyznaczyć potrzebne parametry; umożliwi prawidłowe skonstruowanie modelu, który będzie podstawą do optymalizacji gospodarki materiałowej. In the article the author presented the advantage resulting from application of the system approach in the inventory management. The article presents the basic notations of the system theory and their transposition onto the model of the inventory theory. Application of the systems theory allows separating the most significant processes in the firm, thus correct estimating of the parameters of the model. Therefore we can obtain the model that is very well fit to the reality and results received by means of such model can be used in real economic situations. (original abstract)
