W artykule zaproponowano metodykę analizy rodzajów, przyczyn i krytyczności strat produktu logistycznego, przydatną w badaniach towaroznawczych oraz przy projektowaniu i implementacji systemów logistycznych.

The problem of evaluating the efficacy of product protection in logistic processes is important not only from the point of view of the commodity science but also from the logistic standpoint. The diagnostic analysis of the correctness of logistic product protection should be based on the analysis of kinds, causes, and criticality of losses. A systematic and reproducible analysis of product losses requires that a uniform procedure is accepted. Such a procedure is suggested in the present paper. The usability of the presented methodology for the studies pertaining to the commodity science, as well as when designing and implementing logistic systems, is shown. (original abstract)
