Abstrakty
Jednym z głównych zadań Narodowego Banku Polskiego jest podnoszenie efektywności polityki pieniężnej. Autor omawia miejsce i rolę NBP na międzynarodowym rynku pieniężnym w Polsce, a także funkcjonowanie międzybankowego rynku walutowego.
One of the main tasks of the National Polish Bank (NBP) is to enhance effectiveness of monetary policy. The paper presents methods and instruments at disposal of NBP in order to fulfill these tasks on the interbank monetary market. The paper has been thematically divided into two parts; in the first one the author has outlined the operation of the world currency market as well as the condition and tasks of NBP on the forex market in Poland; in the second part, however, considerations are concentrated on efficiency analysis of NBP's intervention on the interbank gold market. The end of the paper presents the author's conclusions and suggestions concerning effects of the central bank activity on this segment of the market. (original abstract)
