Abstrakty

W opracowaniu zwrócono uwagę na podstawowe zjawiska, które kształtowały sytuację finansową przedsiębiorstw w latach 1995-2001 i w tym kontekście oceniono ich możliwości rozwojowe. Autor, analizując sytuację finansową polskich przedsiębiorstw, wskazał przede wszystkim na przyczyny i przejawy pogarszającej się kondycji, co w konsekwencji doprowadziło do zahamowania aktywności gospodarczej i tempa rozwoju polskiej gospodarki w ostatnich latach. Przy ocenie omawianych zagadnień autor posłużył się danymi GUS, które obejmują sektor przedsiębiorstw, niezależnie od przedmiotu ich działalności, formy prawnej czy struktury własnościowej.

The paper presents the influence of the financial standing of Polish companies on their opportunities of development in 1995-2001. The financial standing of the companies' sector has much worsened, especially in the years 1999-2001. It is demonstrated by a more rapid pace of increase of the activity cost than of income, lowering of the profitability indices and fall of the net profit as well as of financial surplus being the sum of the net profit and amortization. The capital structure has worsened; the increase of outside capital share (commitments) in property financing (up to 53 procent was disadvantageous to financial results due to the increase of costs. Unsufficiency of ownership capital and high cost of foreign capital were responsible for the lowering of investment expenditures, which, e.g. in the industry, have distinctly dropped. Such situation has created unfavourable conditions to maintain the competitiveness of the Polish products on the world markets. Confrontation of the selected characteristics of the financial standing with manifestations of the development process showed a significant influence of the above described situation on the evident inhibition of economic activity, especially in 2000-2001.
