Abstrakty

Artykuł omawia kwestie związane z środowiskiem naturalnym, a ściślej z koncepcją zrównoważonego rozwoju, która odgrywa coraz większą rolę w procesie formułowania i implementacji polityki przestrzennej zagospodarowania, a także stanowi nowe podejście do problematyki rozwoju regionalnego. Autorka stara się odpowiedzieć na pytania: co oznacza zrównoważony rozwój z punktu widzenia planowania przestrzennego? Jak krajowe rządy odpowiadają obecnie na ideę zrównoważonego rozwoju? Dlaczego planowanie przestrzenne jest niezbędne w osiąganiu zrównoważonego rozwoju?

The purpose of the article is to present the importance of environmental sustainability from a national spatial planning perspective. The article raises the following questions: What is sustainability from a spatial planning perspective? Why national and regional spatial planning is necessry to achieve more sustainable development? How can national spatial planning contribute to sustainable development? How are national governments responfing to sustainable development through spatial planning? (short original abstract)
