The R&D performance in Poland, 1994 - 1997 is analysed, using the data from the satellite account of R&D for this period. The results are widely compared to the record of other OECD countries. As the main conclusions, the author highlights: i) halting of the downward tendency in the share of expenditures on R&D within the GDP, ii) support for the hypothesis that the international position of Poland in terms of the expenditures on the R&D, corresponds to its level of economic development, iii) a decreasing significance of the government sector and the growing share of the enterprises in the R&D activity, iv) a significant increase of the share of the private sector in the national totals for the R&D activity.
Analiza trendów w działalności strefy badawczo-rozwojowej w Polsce w latach 1994-97 i porównanie z krajami OECD.
