Abstrakty

W opracowaniu skoncentrowano rozważania na dwóch podstawowych kwestiach związanych z demograficznymi uwarunkowaniami rynku pracy w Polsce i Europie: - zmianach liczby i struktury ludności w wieku produkcyjnym, determinujących zmiany wielkości potencjalnych zasobów pracy i ich starzenie; - zmianach proporcji między osobami w wieku produkcyjnym i poprodukcyjnym, wynikających ze zmian wielkości zasobów pracy i starzenia się ludności.

Gradual weakening in the dynamics of the number of the European population and a growth in the number and share of people aged 60 years and more (or 65 years and more), has been a subject for discussion for at least two decades. At the beginning its main participants were demographers, then representatives of other sciences joined in, particularly economy, sociology, medicine and social policy. In the nineties, a decreasing rate of growth in the number of population at the working age and ageing of labour force were brought to the researchers attention. Together with decreasing economic activity of people in older groups of the working age, these changes lead to much stronger worsening of relation between the number of the employed and the number of retirement pay beneficiaries, than may be indicated by demographic changes. The Author's analysis concentrates on : - changes in the number and structure of population at the working age determining changes in potential labour resources and their ageing; - changes in proportions between persons at the working and post-working age resulting from the changes in the size of labour resources and population ageing; The reflection concerns the European Union countries (except Luxembourg) and 10 countries of the Central and East Europe (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), and also Switzerland and Norway.
