Abstrakty

A characteristic feature of the world economy today has been the rapid increase in the flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) - the highest form of internationalisation and globalisation in the field of economic activity. The increasing scale and dynamics of foreign direct investment in the world in the last decade of the Twentieth Century, together with the appearance in this period of "new recipients" of this investment, i.e., East-central European countries, has led to a renaissance in research on the essence and causes of this phenomenon. The three objectives of this post-doctoral thesis are to select the determinants of foreign direct investment from existing economic theories, to analyse these determinants, both from the point of view of an enterprise investing abroad and from the point of view of the host country, the third and final objective is to verify empirically the factors determining the location of foreign direct investment using the examples of the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.(AT)
